Congratulations to Dave and all of our friends at Doc Holliday's on their 15th anniversary.

Joanna tells us "It's going to be mayhem and a blast. Alyssa and I will be in `adult costumes`. Be there, or be sorry."

Adult Education at Union Hall: Tue. April 7

Tuesday, April 7
Stay Free Magazine presents...
Adult Education
a useless lecture series
Adult Education is a Brooklyn-based monthly lecture series devoted to making useless knowledge somewhat less useless. Each month is devoted to a given theme, and 4 speakers will address some aspect of that theme using visual aids.
This month, Adult Education welcomes a panel of presenters on Safety Lessons:
"Color Schemes"
The line-up will include:
Megan Montague Cash
"Crayon Boxes Through the Ages"
Hang on tight! Megan Montague Cash takes you on a wild ride while exploring the history of crayon packaging.
Laurie Rosenwald
"Mutant Bastard Yucky Colors of the Apocalypse"
Lavender is the yellow of Japan. Hot pink is the navy blue of India. So how did dusty rose, teal, suntan, and what the author Douglas Coupland calls "veal" become America's first palette? Laurie Rosenwald investigates.
Jennifer L. Knox
"The Making of Brown"
Jennifer L. Knox explains the historical evolution of the primary colors, their permutations,
and why sleeping in a red t-shirt three nights in a row can give you a sinus infection.
Jude Stewart
"Decoding Color"
From blue collars to white telephones, Jude Stewart explores colors and their meanings.
All hosted by comedian Charles Star
8 pm (doors at 7:30)
$5 cover

"Helping the Haleys" Fundraiser at Rathbone's: Thursday, April 2
This is a grass-roots fundraiser tonight at Rathbones, with friends rallying together to help a friend in need. Please lend your support if you can...
Thursday, April 2
"Helping the Haleys" Fundraiser
$40 donation includes:
Open Bar & Appetizers
Your generous donations will be collected at the door
proceeds will help offset medical expenses and child care
for the Haley family (read their story here)
Live music by
Ray Greiche
7pm
at:Rathbones

New York, NY

About the HaleysAllison & Jerry Haley are a family with 3 young children.
After undergoing treatment for a brain tumor in 2004, Jerry now suffers from "necrosis", a rare consequence that affects the central nervous system and leads to a steady decline in motor and neural activity.
Medical Expenses Associated with Jerry's Condition are Astronomical. Not only does Jerry's care come with a hefty price tag, but also disheartening limitations. Sadly, Jerry has disengaged from beneficial physical, occupational and speech therapy, because insurance will no longer cover the cost.
ALL DONATIONS will be applied to Jerry's medical treatment and child care for Peter, Megan and Jake. With the help of friends and family, Allison and Jerry were already able to hire their au pair. So, newly raised funds will allow Allison and Jerry to balance their family's needs with Jerry's medical needs - an important balance.
If you would like to make a donation by check, please make it payable to Allison Haley and send it to:
Haley's Fund
1 Patriots Way
Rye, NH 03870
You can also donate on-line at:
Haleysfund.com
Please note: Haley's Fund is not a 501(c)(3) organization and donations are not tax deductable.
