About LiveStrong:
LiveStrong was founded by Lance Armstrong, who at age 25 was one of the world's best cyclists. Lance Armstrong seemed invincible and his future was bright. Then they told him he had cancer. Next to the challenge he now faced, bike racing seemed insignificant. Like most young, healthy men, Lance ignored the warning signs, and he never imagined the seriousness of his condition. Going untreated, the cancer had spread to Lance's abdomen, lungs and brain.
Then a combination of physical conditioning, a strong support system and competitive spirit took over. This marked the beginning of Lance's life as an advocate for people living with cancer and a world representative for the cancer community.
This is his choice to live strong.

Irish music legend Finbar Furey hits NYC for two shows in October...
Finbar Furey in Concert
From his website:
Finbar Furey comes from a unique pedigree -
an all Ireland Uillean Pipe Champion and whistle player, singer/songwriter as well as playing 5-string banjo, and guitar. Finbar has been round the block many times with brother Eddie, recording for Transatlantic records in the 60's and achieving fame with The Furey Brothers and Davey Arthur in the 80's.
Now he works solo, balancing his folk roots with his voice in songs such as 'New York Girls', which was his handlebar moustache swinging contribution to Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York...

Netparty at Tavern on the Green: Tue. Sept. 22

Joni Mitchell wrote, "you don't know what you've got till its gone", so we say "do it while you still can!" I am referring, of course to partying outdoors, and going to Tavern on the Green. Both will be gone soon. We all know that the change of season will curtail outdoor partying, (at least temporarily), but this is also the last year of Tavern on the Green as we know it. (Tavern on the Green lost the bid on the new concession with the City Parks Dept., and their license will expire Dec. 31, 2009). So party outdoors at this NYC landmark before it's too late.

NetParty's Farewell to Summer Party

Netparty: An evening of business and social networking for young professionals

Our friend Jeff has been running successful networking parties as long as MurphGuide has been connecting the fun to the fun people (since the care-free '90s).

They return to Tavern of the Green for tonight's networking event. (Their premiere event at this NYC landmark in July attracted over 300 young professionals).
Cool music played at a low volume to facilitate successful business and social networking until 8 pm.
DJ spinning great music and creating a fun atmosphere after 8 pm while allowing for continued conversation and interaction.

Meet hundreds of young, fun professionals for business contacts and friendships like you can do nowhere else.

$10 Admission in advance, $15 with RSVP
$20 at the door without RSVP
