Paul Hurley, president of the United Restaurant & Tavern Owners of NY, along with State of New York and City of New York Law enforcement and elected officials, announce today the launch of the first New York City chapter of BADD: Bars Against Drunk Driving to ensure safety throughout the year. The initiative will teach alcohol safety measures to bartenders, waiters, waitresses and staff of bars, taverns and restaurants across New York for their millions of patrons.
The first meeting is today, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 11:30 at O'Casey's Restaurant in Manhattan. Government officials, Mothers Against Drunk Driving as well as media will be on hand to attend the first organizational meeting. It is an important time to get a safe holiday message out to members of the hospitality industry, before the Christmas and New Year's. The press conference and meeting will only take an hour.
RSVP to 212-967-5700 if you can attend or send a representative to this important organizational meeting.
The United Restaurant and Tavern Owners Association represents several hundred restaurants, bars, and taverns in the metropolitan area and Long Island, since 1937. It serves as the oldest organization serving the hospitality industry.
