"Madame Marie" Castello, a fixture of the Asbury Park boardwalk, and made world famous by Bruce Springteen, has passed away at the age of 93.
Springsteen's lyric: "you hear the cops finally busted Madame Marie for telling fortunes better than they do" immortalized Madame Marie in his 1973 song "4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)".
She started telling fortunes on the boardwalk of Asbury Park, NJ in the 1930s.
