Ceann (pronounced Key-Ann) described their style as "Yankee Irish drinking music", and their songs combined humor and musicianship to create a unique entertaining experience. Although the band was originally based in Pittsburgh, Patrick used to write to MurphGuide whenever the band would play in NYC (including New Year's Eve 2008 at Hurley's Saloon and the Irish Rock Fest in July, '08 at Connolly's). It seems Patrick knew how to find fun people wherever he went. In addition to Pittsburgh and NYC, Ceann frequently performed at Murphy's Irish Pubs in Virginia Beach and in Alexandria, VA. The band had just performed gigs Jan. 28 & 29 at McGrath's Irish Pub at The Inn at Long Trail in Killington, VT the weekend before his death.
Our condolences go out to his family and to his fellow band mates. There are a few memorial events lined up in the coming weeks:
