Post St. Patrick's Day Parade Suggestions on the Upper East Side

#20 in our month-long series of St. Patrick's Day events:

St. Patrick's Day on the Upper East Side
New York City's St. Patrick's Day Parade starts on 44th St. and goes up Fifth Ave. to 86th St.
The bars on the upper east side fill up early, as bus loads of marchers end up here after the parade. Every pub will be filled with pipers, fireman, parade marchers and attendees, locals and visitors, and the people that love to party with them.

Here are some of our suggestions:

In the E. 60s:
St. Patrick's Day at O'Flanagan's
O'Flanagan's has long been a popular post-parade destination, with live music all day and all night.
Johnny Murphy & the Clubmen perform Irish favorites by day, while Spoiled Rotten will keep the action going with dance tunes & party rock at night.

The Stenson brothers have been drinking consultants since opening Phoenix Park in 1998. They now own four establishments in Manhattan: Three on the upper east side and one in The Village. Named for the "Central Park" of Dublin, Phoenix Park, their first, will be ready to host parade goers as they make their way east.

Banshee Pub owners Gene Lennon & Billy Ferguson also own two other great Irish pubs on the upper east side. All three of their pubs are known for the excellent hospitality of the Irish bartenders, as well as the owners themselves. The other two pubs are The Gael Pub (their newest and largest), and Trinity Pub the original. The Gael usually hosts a pub quiz on Tuesdays, but it will be held on Wednesday this week because of the holiday. The Gael also presents U2 tribute Band 2U this Saturday, March 21.
